Our Team
All of our coaches have undergone science-based training. In addition, we have all practiced a variety of sports ourselves and are therefore very familiar with the lifestyle of athletes, which helps us to ideally adapt our recommendations to the everyday challenges of athletes.
“Nutrition
coaching is
much more than
just creating
macro splits”
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide athletes with the best possible support in achieving their goals with our science-based coaching approach and our practical experience as athletes and coaches.
Through lectures, workshops, and online learning materials, we aim to equip athletes and coaches with knowledge that reflects the latest scientific standards
Philosophy
athlEATcoach stands for scientific facts. We want to communicate these in an understandable way to athletes and other interested parties from the sport, thereby clearing up nutritional myths. We deliberately do not cooperate with companies that sell products because we want to analyze and advise independently and objectively. Only in this way can we maintain our self-imposed high quality standard.
Jörn Utermann
Founder of athlEATcoach
After completing his bachelor’s degree in nutritional science, he specialized in the nutritional needs of athletes with the IOC Diploma and a master’s degree in sports nutrition.
Jörn has competed in handball, tennis, wrestling, and CrossFit, and also brings several years of experience in MMA and bouldering. Due to past injuries, he now approaches training with more caution—but his passion for sports hasn’t slowed down. Today, he dives deep into scientific journals to stay on top of the latest research, ensuring his athletes and clients receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based guidance.
Lucas Ille
Our Expert for Team Athletes
Ever since he was a little boy in the sports hall, the fascination of handball has never let him go. He has played the sport at a high level for more than 20 years. Skiing has also been a steady part of his athletic repertoire for many years, and in recent years he has added weight training to his routine as well.
During his bachelor’s degree in sports science and sports therapy, Lucas quickly realized that he was just as interested in the complex interrelationships in human nutrition as he was in the connections between training and human physiology. He was able to gain deeper insight into these during his master’s degree. Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition.
Lucas has been with Team athlEATcoach since 2022 mainly coaches ball players and people who want to lose weight or build muscle mass effectively in nutrition coaching. However, he has also gained experience in coaching triathletes and powerlifters – a true all-rounder.
Mario Franz
Our Expert for Master Athletes
